Welcome and Free Play

 

  

Receive children.  A broad range of activities are available – sand/water, easel painting, books, role play, outdoor toys, drawing etc.

   Carpet Time

 

  

Children come together for a welcome session and discussion of the day’s activities.  At this time we talk about our focus activity and what it involves.

1.45

  

Activity Time

 

  

Children are actively encouraged to move around the areas and participate in a wide range of activities on offer.  Staff observe children and use these observations to inform future planning. Small group work also takes place at this time for example, maths games and language activities.

2.30 -2.45

  

Snack Time

 

   Between 2.30 and 2.45 children have a snack time.  They are encouraged to have a drink of water or milk and some fruit.

   Tidy Up Time
    Children help staff tidy up where they have been playing

   Story /Circle Time

 

   Children come together for story or circle time sessions.  At this time children may discuss activities or topics.  They are encouraged to participate in singing songs and listening to stories.

4.00

  

Session Ends

Activities are sometimes planned for children to listen to music, participate in music and movement sessions or play musical instruments at the end of the session. We often listen to music throughout the session.
