At Windsor Kindergarten
we follow a structure of learning, development and care for children
from two to five years old based on the Early Years Foundation Stage
Framework. This enables your child to learn through a range of play-
based activities which meet the requirements of the Early Years
Foundation Stage. By providing a safe and secure environment for them to
try out new things, the children in our care can explore and develop
their skills whilst building their confidence in learning.
How we plan for your child
 On
joining Windsor Kindergarten, each child is allocated a key person who
is responsible for maintaining a portfolio for the child. This
contains detailed observations and photographs of the child’s work. Trained staff observe the children at play and note the activities and
areas which interest them and stimulate their learning. This
information is used to plan further activities and learning
opportunities which help the children progress to their next
developmental milestone. Planning is done on a daily basis and areas of
learning are enhanced by adding additional resources and materials. Activities are both planned and spontaneous, according to the interests
of each child and taking into account each child’s individual needs. The key person works closely alongside the parents/carers and other
members of staff to provide the highest standard of care and education
and to help each child reach his or her full learning potential.
